EMPLOYMENT

One of the primary functions of the Human Resources Department is to attract top talent to our organization, and to provide for developmental and promotional opportunities to our staff. Our policy is to post open position notices internally and on our website for every vacancy. The Village of Pinehurst may also advertise externally at the same time.

The Village of Pinehurst only accepts resumes and employment applications for open positions, with the exception of certified Police and Fire personnel. Applications for these positions are accepted whether or not a vacancy exists, and will be kept on file for consideration when a vacancy occurs.

Staffing Pool
The Village also maintains a Staffing Pool, made up of two to three individuals who fill in on an as-needed basis in various departments. Employees in our Staffing Pool have top-notch administrative and customer service skills, and are flexible with regard to work assignments.

Employee Referral
Employee referral is often our best source of recruiting qualified and reliable employees for our organization. With that in mind, our Employee Referral Award was established. Employees who recommend a candidate who is hired and successfully completes six months of service will receive a $300 recruiting bonus. This program may be changed in accordance with market conditions.
