PINEWILD ANNEXATION

On Friday, June 15, 2007 the Village Council adopted an Annexation Ordinance to effect the annexation of Pinewild Country Club of Pinehurst. The effective date of the annexation has been set for June 30, 2008. Subsequent to the adoption of the Annexation Ordinance, a group of property owners in Pinewild have filed a suit against the Village claiming the Annexation Ordinance should be invalidated by the courts. As a result, the annexation will become effective upon the resolution of the case in the court system.

Leading up to the adoption of the annexation ordinance, the Village Council followed the schedule below during the annexation proceedings:

Tuesday, January 9, 2007 - Adopted a Resolution of Intent
Tuesday, January 23, 2007 - Approved a Services Plan
Friday, March 2, 2007 (9-11 am; 1-3 pm; 5-7 pm) - Conducted Public Information Meetings
Tuesday, March 27, 2007 (1 pm) - Held the Public Hearing
Friday, June 15, 2007 - Adopted Annexation Ordinance
